REVIEW YOUR POLICY REGULARLY
Your policy is now published on the web. We update it as and when there are changes and review motor values on an annual basis. However it is advisable to check your policy regularly as it is easy to forget to insure new items and more importantly to ensure that your goods are insured at replacement value.
REPLACEMENT VALUE
Always remember that all items (other than motor) are insured at replacement value (i.e. New for Old).
AVERAGE CLAUSE
Applies to under-insurance. If the goods claimed are not insured for replacement value and you are found to be under-insured you will be considered to be your own insurer for the balance.
JEWELLERY CERTIFICATES
All jewellery over the value of R1,000 specified under the All Risks section requires valuation certificates less than 2 years old.
IS YOUR VEHICLE INSURED AT THE CORRECT VALUE?
Your vehicle is insured at market value (the difference between trade and retail) and the value is affected by condition, mileage and after market extra's. Please contact us to assist you in arriving at an accurate value.
CORRECT USAGE OF YOUR VEHICLE
Insurance companies have three categories: private, private with limited business and business use. It is critically important to declare correct usage as your rate is decided on this basis and one risks repudiation for non-disclosure.
INVENTORY
To ensure that your household contents are insured at the correct value it is wise to do your own inventory applying replacement values. Click here for our inventory form.
